On my first evening in the Grand Tetons recently I made my way to Oxbow bend to try and catch the sunset. Just as the sun was beginning to set behind the mountains it illuminated the tops of the aspen tress on the right, and gave off some spectacular color.
I have been following this blue eyed white eastern grey squirrel around for about two years now. Over the summer we had thought he had been eaten by a hawk but now that the winter is here he is out and about everyday with his perfect camouflage for this season.
This was a young Garter snake that I caught sunning itself on a sidewalk in early may. I almost stepped on him and he slithered off into these leaves to hide. I grabbed my camera and went back to photograph him he posed quite nicely for me and I was able to get this shot.
